Polish has a clear difference between written language and how people speak to each other. This applies to everyday conversations or at work. A direct translation of a Dutch text often sounds too formal in Polish. A professional voice actor will sense this straight away. They will tell you if a sentence does not sound natural.
3. Director's tip: give your voice actor an audio guide for brand names
As a voice director, I often see mistakes with foreign brand names or technical terms. Polish grammar changes words based on how they function in a sentence. But brand or company names sometimes need to stay exactly as they are.
So, give your voice actor this information beforehand:
- An audio recording. You can record it on your smartphone. Say the brand name slowly and clearly.
- Clear instructions on whether to pronounce the brand name in English or Polish.
- The stress for specific product names or technical terms.
This stops the voice actor from needing to re-record in the studio. You can easily avoid this extra work with clear instructions upfront.
4. Work only with experienced native speakers
It might seem tempting to book a voice that “can speak Polish”. But you can spot a native speaker straight away. Only someone who grew up with the language has the natural intonation. This builds trust with local listeners. All our voices are professional voice actors. They work from high-quality studios. This ensures you get a clean sound. No distracting background noise or echo.
5. Understand how Polish voice-over rates work
Clear pricing avoids surprises later on. How we calculate a professional voice's rate depends on your project type:
- Commercial projects (like radio, TV, or online adverts): You pay a fixed basic rate for the recording. This is plus a buy-out. The buy-out covers usage rights. It depends on the channels you use and how long the advert will run.
- Non-commercial projects (like e-learning, corporate films, or instruction videos): We calculate the price based on the word count or the total length of your script.
