Direction: guiding nuance and emotion
As a voice director, I focus on the small details that subtly influence listeners. Here is a practical studio tip: ask the voice actor to smile while speaking, even during a corporate delivery. You hear that physical smile in the vocal tone immediately; it makes the read feel warmer and more approachable. It also helps to deliver the text as if speaking to one person sitting beside you, rather than addressing an auditorium.
This focus on nuance applies across all 93 publicly available voices on our platform. Whether it is Darren from the UK with his neutral London accent, or Francesca from Italy delivering an authentic Italian read, every language has its own cadence and demands its own approach.
Editing: the art of leaving things out
After recording wraps, the audio file moves to the editing suite. This is where subtle polishing ensures a smooth listening experience. The process follows several key stages:
- Cleaning out mouth noise and loud breaths without creating unnatural silence.
- Refining pacing so that pauses between sentences build the right balance of rhythm and rest.
- Mastering the audio so the voice cuts through cleanly on both a smartphone speaker and a high-end sound system.
It is this behind-the-scenes work that earns feedback like Adapteo's and REO's, who praise our fast, reliable service. The result is a recording that holds up under scrutiny.
Transparent pricing upfront
To prevent misunderstandings, we work with a clear pricing structure. Voice-over rates depend on the type of project:
- Commercial work: for radio spots, TV adverts, or paid online campaigns, you pay a basic session fee for the studio recording plus a buyout. The buyout covers usage rights and varies with the channel and campaign duration.
- Non-commercial work: for internal company videos or e-learning, buyouts do not apply. We charge per word or per project.
We are always happy to prepare a tailored quote that fits your exact requirements.
