Choosing the right pitch and dynamics is like selecting the perfect timber for a cabinet: it dictates the entire aesthetic of the final product.
Honing the Character in the Recording
When we enter the studio, the real sculpting process begins. A text on paper is static, but in the studio, it comes to life. We work closely with voices from different regions. For example, Bernard, who speaks French (BE) and hails from Belgium, brings a warm and trustworthy sound that immediately gives a project an international flair. For projects in the Netherlands, we often work with Carolina, a Dutch voice from the Netherlands, who with her 25 years of experience knows exactly how to make a message sound trustworthy and inviting.
The studio process follows a structured approach to ensure quality:
- The Briefing: We discuss the target audience and the desired mood of the video.
- The Trial Recording: The voice actor reads a small fragment to determine the right tone.
- The Direction: We provide live direction on pace, intonation, and emphasis.
- The Finishing: The recording is cleaned up, removing distracting breaths, and perfectly mixed.
Clients truly appreciate this personal approach. Marie-Charlotte, for instance, praised our team's professional, swift, and efficient work in her review. Sander also succinctly described the collaboration as highly recommended with absolutely nothing to fault.
The Numbers Behind a Professional Recording
A clear pricing structure prevents any nasty surprises down the line. We therefore use a transparent system that's tailored to the project type.
For a commercial voice-over, the price always consists of two parts: a fixed basic rate for the recording itself, plus a buy-out for the usage rights. This buy-out depends on the medium on which the video is shown and the campaign duration. For non-commercial work, such as an internal corporate film or e-learning, we calculate differently. Here, pricing is determined per word or per project. This way, you'll know exactly where you stand from the outset.
