What is voice selection?
Voice-over casting is a targeted selection process. We connect the right professional voice actor to a production's specific tone, target audience, and context.
In the studio, I notice that clients sometimes confuse this with an on-location audition involving dozens of people. With us, this process is much more efficient. We have built a clear routine through our online platform, with over 4200 completed productions:
- Contact us with your brief. Or create an account directly to start your project.
- Choose a suitable voice from our selection. Or request a targeted demo recording based on your own script.
- Book the voice actor. We then immediately schedule the recording and direction.
My director's tip: listen beyond the timbre
During recordings, I often see listeners fixate on a deep, warm bass voice. This sounds impressive at first. But it says little about how someone makes a long text manageable.
My personal rule for directing is simple: focus on understanding and timing. During a recent session, I noticed that an actor with a very neutral vocal tone grasped the script much faster than a candidate with a heavy radio voice. The actor understood exactly where the emphasis should be. They read with natural breathing. This made the message immediately convincing. So, if in doubt, always ask how adaptable a voice is. Don't just focus on voice volume alone.
Clear pricing
Nobody likes surprises afterwards, especially when the editing is ready. That is why we use a transparent structure for every recording.
For commercial productions, such as radio or television spots and online adverts, the rate includes a fixed base fee for studio time. This is supplemented by a buy-out for broadcast rights. The buy-out depends on the medium where the video is shown and the campaign duration. For non-commercial assignments, like an internal instruction video or e-learning, we use a per-word rate or a fixed project price.
