Step 2: Choosing the right voice tone
Choosing a voice is about more than just the language. Within our platform of 94 professional voice actors, we always look for the right tone that suits your target audience. Danish has specific sounds and a unique intonation that must feel very natural to a local listener.
Whether you choose a corporate video or have an audio course recorded, the voice must convey trustworthiness. A professional Danish voice actor instinctively knows where the emphasis should be without sounding artificial.
Step 3: Directing with an eye for detail
As a voice director, you guide the pace, articulation, and emotion during the recording session. A common mistake is asking a voice actor to 'just speak a bit faster' when a video setting is fixed.
Director's Tip: Never ask a Danish voice-over to simply speed up their delivery if a passage is too long. Instead, have the voice actor remove short pauses between phrases or rewrite two words into a shorter Danish synonym. This way, the natural melody of the language remains intact, and the message still sounds clear.
Step 4: The recording process in four steps
To keep the process as clear as possible, we work in the studio following a fixed structure:
- Script review: we check the Danish text for length, rhythm, and correct terminology.
- Test recording: the voice actor records a short paragraph to set the desired tone.
- Direction and recording: we record the complete script and adjust emphasis and pauses where necessary.
- Post-production: the audio is cleaned up, brought to the correct sound level, and prepared for delivery.
Step 5: Clarity on pricing structure
For a voice-over project, you want to know what to expect beforehand. The cost of a Danish voice-over depends on the type of project.
Is it a non-commercial project, such as an internal corporate video or e-learning? Then the rate is calculated based on the word count or the total project scope. For commercial work, such as a radio advert or an online advertising campaign, the price consists of a fixed basic fee for the recording session plus a licence (buy-out) for its use. That licence is determined by the medium and the period in which the recording will be heard. For an exact, tailored quote, we always provide a clear proposal.
