Belgian Dutch is the Dutch language as spoken and written in Belgium. It is not a dialect or incorrect Dutch, but its own variant with its own words and distinct sound.
The term covers the standard language in Belgium. This is what you hear on the news, in a corporate video, or on the phone with a Belgian organisation. Below that are the regional dialects - West Flemish, Limburgish, Antwerpian - which are much further removed from the standard language and are rarely used for business recordings.
In practice, 'Flemish' and 'Belgian Dutch' largely overlap when referring to a voice. If you ask for a Belgian Dutch voice, you are looking for a speaker who sounds natural across Flanders: understandable throughout Flanders, without a recognisable regional accent.
The difference also exists in written form. Belgian texts more often use the 'u' (formal 'you') form, different technical terms, and different abbreviations. A script written for the Netherlands gains credibility if it is first re-translated into Belgian Dutch.
